Spring Has Sprung, Chicagoland. Enjoy It!

Well Chicagoland, this past weekend was a busy one! Sunday we set our clocks forward an hour, and the entire weekend was spent Celebrating St. Patrick's Day! For a brief history of one of Chicago's biggest celebrations. Chicago's been dying the river green for over 40 years, but St. Patrick's Day actually falls on the 17th-Today. So Happy St. Patrick's Day today! Celebrating today? Do you want to?You may have noticed that Spring has actually arrived in Chicagoland, as it's started to warm up and a lot more of you are getting out. The snow is gone (for good hopefully) and the grass is getting greener and flowers are starting to peek out of the ground, just in time for the Illinois Orchid Society Spring Show & Sale! See beautiful orchids in bloom and even buy some! The event is being held in Glencoe on Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st.Flowers not your thing? Check out some great Vintage Posters at the International Vintage Poster Fair! It's going on all weekend starting the 19th. The proceeds all go to the Pritzker Military Library. Millennium Park is gearing up for spring too, and the Ice Rink just closed Sunday. Coming up starting the 25th is the In The Works Theater Lab Series featuring "Aiming for Sainthood". The Chicago Park District is also gearing up for spring, featuring performances from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Easter Egg Hunts all around Chicagoland. Check the weather before getting out, and make the most of the increased daylight and warmer temps.

So, Do you think you can dance? Prove it! The Fox show So You Think You Can Dance will be holding auditions for their new season at the Cadillac Palace Theater. Show your skills and you could be America's next Favorite Dancer!

Dancing out of the question? What about running? The Chicago Area Runners Association has you covered with a directory of all area runs, tips for improving your run, and even training if you need it, or just want to fine tune your technique. And if Getting out on the town is more your thing, Metromix Chicago has you covered with their events calendar. Of course a night in is relaxing.

Winter is over, so get out, have fun! Enjoy Springtime Chicagoland!
